Twenty mile double ascent of Newhall "Beast"

This five-mile ascent from 1400 feet to 3500 feet up Newhall's the "Beast" I do all the time, but today is the second time I've done it twice. Ascent up the fire road, descent down Los Pinetos trail, through Placerita Canyon, up the Manzanita Trail, and then up the locally-famous "Viper" trail. The Viper is a very steep single track descent for bikes. I've gone down it once on a bike, tumbling over several times.

Today, weather conditions were perfect. Below 40 degrees all the way, below freezing at the very top. I only needed a few sips of water at the bottom before the second ascent and carried no water.
